2017 Tecnica MachI 130LV ski boots (CLEARANCE)
2017 Tecnica Mach1 130 LV
Tecnica's Mach1 series is a big step forward in ski boot design and performance. Designed around a concept called Custom Adaptive Shape, legendary Tecnica performance is now offered in a boot that fits very, very well out of the box, but is also super easy to customize if necessary. The Mach1 series is not only the best fitting Tecnica ever, but also one of the best skiing, high performance boots money can buy.
CAS (Custom Adaptive Fit) is integrated into every component in the ski boot. The boot can be completely disassembled, with no rivets to drill out anywhere. The shell, liner and footboard can be very easily modified with basic tools. Even the tongue has CAS capabilities with a large section on the lower tongue cut out to relieve instep pressure. This area of the tongue can easily be modified further if you have problem areas on the top of your foot. Dimples in the surfaces of the shell, liner and foot board act as a road map to mark where changes need to occur. This type of system has never been used in a ski boot that we know of.
The CAS liner is also very unique, in that it is construction with very firm, molded outer panels that very specifically match the internal shape of the shell. This eliminates much of the open space between liner and shell that is a performance disadvantage in most ski boots. Anything that helps energy travel through the boot to the ski results in quicker response and better control for a good skier. This liner can be heat molded, but that is not necessary as it will mold well to the foot during use.
The boot model offered here is the 98mm LV (Low Volume) version. Tecnica also offers this boot in a 100mm MV (mid volume) shell shape. There is also an exactly comparable, but softer flexing 120 LV and MV version which you can find in our Ebay store by clicking on the link at the top of this description. The Mach1 130 is Tecnica's most sophisticated ski boot ever, and one of the top skiing boots on the market too. Check out these features of the Tecnica Mach1 130LV:
- CAS PolyEther shell construction is the stiffest, springiest material available in a Tecnica ski boot. CAS makes this boot easy to customize, and reassemble as needed now and in the future.
- Carbon reinforced Rear Spine is only found on this model. Improves edge to edge response, and offers superior support against the back of the leg.
Flex Adjustment rear cuff bolts allow the boot to be adjusted for your personal flex preference. This is the stiffest boot in the series, but can be softened quite a lot to cover a very wide range of flex for advanced to expert level skiers.
CAS molded liner panels fits the inside shape of the shell very closely. Less dead space between liner and shell means that the boot needs less break in to arrive at its final shape. Bottom line, this is the best fitting Tecnica boot ever right out of the box. This is the stiffest, firmest liner available in this series.
Easy Entry quick instep design makes the boot easier to get in and out of. Where the boot overlaps on the top of the foot, the plastic is very, very thin. This allows the foot to slide in and out much easier.
98mm Last - This is the shell width than offers the most sensitive feel for the snow, and what many performance minded skiers are looking for. It has approximately 7% less shell volume than Tecnica MV (mid lasted) shell shape. Very close fitting for top performance, but still with room where you need it for all day comfort. THIS IS NOT A BOOT FOR WIDE FEET!
Cam Lock Power Strap with very wide PVC front - Easy to adjust on the fly, and transmits power much quicker to the front of the ski.
Rear Spoiler can be height adjusted or completely removed, to fit the shape and size of your lower leg.
- Screw attached buckles and ladders are easy to take off the shell for customization or replacement. This boot can be completely dis-asembled and re-assembled with regular hand tools.
How does the Tecnica Mach1 130 LV fit? Very snug, close fit for average feet, with quite a bit of toe room in the shell. It has the perfect blend of snugness for performance skiing, but is also very comfortable for most skiers looking for a very close fitting ski boot. Very easy to put on and take off. Feels firm out of the box, but gets better and better after you've had it on for a few minutes. Just like any performance boot, it's very important that the boot not be cold when tried on.
